In Barcelona, where millions of journeys are recorded every day, the management of parking space becomes an essential component of urban mobility, if we also add the requirements of sustainability, with the need for recharging for electric or hybrid vehicles, it can be a real challenge.
Núñez i Navarro (NN), with the aim of strengthening its sustainable mobility strategy, has reached an agreement with Etecnic, outsourcing the installation, management, operation and maintenance of the charging points located in the NN Group's car parks in Barcelona.
Etecnic, leader in electric vehicle charging point installations and third operator in Spain
The company Etecnic integrates all the services: project consultancy, civil works, installation and commissioning, own management platform with EVcharge (EVcharge Manager and APP for users), 24/7 maintenance and remote assistance, a customer service with training on the EVcharge platform and production of communications for its users.
Consolidated as the third largest operator in Spain, Etecnic was founded in Reus (Tarragona) in 2015 and maintains its headquarters in Catalonia. The agreement involves the management as a starting point of 31 initial charging points, which are already operational.
It is planned to expand the number of car parks with charging stations in the centre of Barcelona
In the coming months, Núñez i Navarro will expand the number of car parks with charging stations in the centre of Barcelona. This initiative is part of an effort to offer an extensive network of charging points, thus improving the service for users. The NN Group focuses on being agile and accessible, meeting the needs of those who visit Barcelona for business or tourism in areas with high traffic. The company's commitment is to provide appropriate and well-connected locations, placing its emphasis on responding to people's real demands.
This approach is 100% aligned with Etecnic, whose own platform and APP for EVcharge users has more than 700,000 registered users and different publicly accessible charging points in Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania and Colombia.
A step forward where technology will make life easier for thousands of people
Ramona Martínez, CEO of Etecnic explains: "From the first moment, we had a great connection with Núñez i Navarro because, as in Etecnic, they focus on people and how they move. A clear example is our EVcharge App. It's simple and practical; it allows everyone to find where to charge, do so and pay, whether you are an individual or a company with many vehicles" and adds about the value proposition: "It has been a great step for Etecnic, especially in the urban car park sector. With the EVcharge platform, car parks digitise charger management and attract a segment of drivers that is growing year after year. I firmly believe that this agreement is a step forward where technology will make life easier for thousands of people."
