Wines with tradition, passion, and qualityLocated in an area where it is believed that vineyards date back to the Phoenicians and Carthaginians. Today, it features the Negra Mole grape variety, likely in the oldest vineyard in the Algarve (planted in 1942) still in economic production. The future Lagoa Cooperative Winery was founded here in the 1950s. The old estate winery houses the two "Algerian amphorae" where the first grapes were vinified. There is also the Hermida da Palmeirinha, from the 18th century, where worship was held until the mid-1970s. It was the center of expressions of faith, processions to "ask for rain," or to give thanks for good harvests.
